We had a rough, wet start to our honeymoon due to Tropical Storm Nicole. Thankfully though, we were still able to fly in as planned. After we landed we found out that several other flights had been canceled due to the bad weather.

The first 5 days of our trip were extremely wet. I have never experienced rain like that before. It was coming down in buckets and just standing outside for a few moments left you drenched. One morning we were lucky enough to see the sun but by the time we made it down to the pool, the rain clouds were moving in. By the last three days it finally cleared up and we were able to enjoy some sunshine!

One highlight on our trip was that we were given an excursion for a wedding gift. It was called the Dunns River Safari. We were the only ones there so it turned out to be a private tour. We got to ride around in a zebra stripped jeep all day touring the countryside. It was incredibly beautiful! Our tour guide stopped several times to pick local fruit for us to try! It was amazing that it was just growing on the side of the road. The tour ended at Dunns River Falls where we literally hiked up the front of the water fall. The rain had held off until we arrived at the falls and then the clouds let loose! We hiked up the falls in the down pouring rain. It was a pretty cool experience and unlike anything I had ever done before. Thank you Dave, Kim, Mara, Blossom and Buddha for the wonderful gift!

Other than the tour we really laid low. We spent a lot of time reading, relaxing and catching up on some much needed sleep. We also discovered board games in one of the bars and spent an entire afternoon playing them. Finally after beating Sean several times at each game he gave up and wouldn't play with me anymore. What a poor sport!

By the end of the trip it had finally cleared up and we spent two days lying poolside soaking up every ray we could! It was the perfect end to a wonderful trip!
